GREEN FAIR Every other year, the CEEG plans and hosts a Green Fair to bring together conservation agencies, local and regional environmental specialists, green technology vendors, crafters using recycled materials, and representatives from local colleges/educational non-profits. The goal of the Green Fair is to provide information and guidance on selected environmental issues ranging from composting to electrical efficiency in your home. The 2016 Green Fair will be held on March 19th at the Old Armory in Edenton. Watch for updates on the SPECIAL SEMINARS FOR COMMUNITY DISCUSSION The CEEG organizes several seminars per year focusing on high interest topics from Green Fair survey results. We are developing a series of regular coffee shop events and other special programs to encourage small group action planning. CITIZEN SCIENTISTS The CEEG partners with research agencies to design and implement data collection projects. These environmental surveys are conducted by local citizens and serve to inform local decisions as well as contributing to a larger database of information. In the fall of 2014, a dozen volunteers successfully tackled monitoring and mapping the invasive aquatic weed, hydrilla, in the Chowan River.
